It's Raining

.
There's been no rain for quite some time, so of course, the day we have to go out, it starts pouring.

We had an appointment to give blood, so there wasn't much choice, we bundled up and out we went.

While I was waiting, I decided that it was about time I got the camera out and shoot a few pictures, weather be damned.

Like always,
these look better if you click on them
and look at them at full size.

Rain drops were the order of the day.

I'm fascinated with infrared photography,
even though I don't really understand it.
I have a few programs that try to simulate it.
Here's a shot processed to replicate the effect.

And here's another attempt at Bokeh.
I'm trying to learn
to use the aperture setting on my camera.

The blood drive was held at a local church,
so I grabbed this shot of one of the arches.
I love the simplicity and shapes in this shot.

Other than these few shots,
the only news
is that we're still working in the house.

At least you are working on it! Good shots today. Thank you for posting them for all of us to enjoy.

Bouquets and bokehs to you for donating blood. I do that as often as possible, and have been accepted as a "double red" donor several times (that's plasma only, and it takes longer, but has a wider use than regular blood -- it's really called "apheresis.)" Loved your rain shots, as well as the arch -- well composed, very arty!

The drops on vegetation is one of the best things about a rainy day. :)

Excellent collection of water droplets. You did very well on those captures. I think I need a better camera to successfully, and not accidentally, get the bokey effect that I really like.

Yeah, damned wet weather!! We've been having more that our share of it here, that's for sure. It's just dripping off the trees right now, so that's some improvement. Even see some sun through the clouds. Might turn out to be a decent day for a change! Love you guys! Miss you!!

(gotta laugh from the word verification that just came up: "borio"...that's funny)

That was fun, Kate. I learned something new. Had never heard of Bokeh before. Nice that I chose to link today and Wiki was working again. Protests are a good thing. I would hate to lost Wikipedia!!
