Today I Left the House . . .

.
for only the second time in the last seventeen days!

Sunday, a friend took me to the market, which pretty much triggered a relapse. Not as severe as the original, but it was a setback.

And Terry, my sweet man is now sick. Ingesting zinc and Delsym, Cholula Red has turned into the house of pain.

That said, I think I'm getting better. Better enough to take a trip to the grocery store all by myself.

And when I walked outside,
the air smelled so sweet.
The brush of warm spring air
was like some long lost memory . . .

It was so wonderful to be out of the rig,
the grocery store struck me as a photo opportunity.

How hard up is that?

The colors bright and fresh,
I felt like I was once again back in the world.

When I came out, the sky looked like this.

There is a world out there after all.

On the drive home,
I always pass by this horse pasture.

With my new found eyes,
I decided to stop and appreciate the horses.

They came to visit me.

Unfortunately,
I didn't have anything to feed them.

They hung around anyway.

We had a nice little tete-a-tete.

It was like a little piece of heaven.

I guess you really can't appreciate these things
until you've not had them for a while.

My trip to the store wore me out,
but every day I'm a bit better . . .

This one has been a real butt kicker,
hope none of you have to endure it.

Now if I can just get my sweet man feeling better,
then we can both appreciate the world once again.

Note: All these pictures were taken with my iPhone 4s

Sorry you are sick. There's some kind of stomach virus going around down here. Lovely photos of your countryside and market! Get well soon.

Kate, your appreciative openness to the world outside Cholula Red gives all of us (all of us who are willing to accept it) a lesson in reality. Those everyday things we pass by without notice are really part of our lives, things to cherish. Our daughter once was walking with her three year old son. He stopped at a garden and wouldn't go on, while his mother was in a hurry. When she tried to get him to move along, he replied, "Mommy, I have to smell this flower!" It would be great if we could be appreciative of the little things that our busy lives try to deny!

So glad you're feeling better, finally! Hope Terry gets better soon. You should have come up here, we've extra beds and could wait on you both! Hugs to you both.

Glad you finally got out of the rig. Yet grocery stores can be so yucky. I think your stop with the horses was the best cure. Hope you are both feeling up to snuff very soon.

All those apples in teh market and you didn't bring any to the poor horses...what's this world coming to? ;) You have been sick for too long Kate - have you seen a doctor. And now Terry's sick too?? My goodness, you two take care, I worry about you.

Don't feel too bad, I got a cold myself, though it's 98% gone now, I beat the tar out of it in time to keep it from doing much more than set my sinuses on fire for a couple days, then give me a runny nose a little congestion.

Which saddens me is it'll be at least another week before I consider myself to be in the "safe" zone and I have a humidor chock-o-block full of cigars waiting to be tasted that have come in the mail the past few days...

So wonderful you were able to get outside for a little while. They let Jim walk around outside this morning and he loved it. And it's only been 11 days for him. Carrots - need to carry carrots for the horses. They would love you forever.

Glad you got out, but sorry about the setback, and hope your man gets to feeling better, and the both of you can get back to enjoying life!

Here's hoping that you continue to feel better each day, Kate, and that Terry feels better soon.
