Playing With Pictures

.
As you may have noticed, I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately. I still carry my camera with me everywhere and hope that I'll see something wonderful, but I can't seem to get very inspired.

But today,
at the Post Office of all places,
I saw one absolutely perfect rose.

I never even saw the tiny bug
till I looked at it in the computer.
(Make sure to click to enlarge.)

This woke me out of my photographic stupor
and I looked around
for something else to shoot.

Our local Post Office has truly lovely roses.
This is off the same bush.

Same rose, slightly different saturation.
I'd love to see one this color.

They also have a box full of these.
I really love white flowers,
they always look so clean.

I especially like white roses.

Here's several versions of the same rose.

I just really enjoy manipulating pictures.

Since I'm not really savvy,
I never quite know where I'm going.
Sometimes I like the results,
other times not so much.
Still, it's a lot of fun.
But then, I'm easily entertained.

After a while, this was my favorite image.
Not very realistic, but it speaks to me.
It says "Don't I look fake?"
I say "Yes, you do, but I like you anyway".

I wish just a few more of these
had been in bloom,
but I like the way the waving flag
provides a colorful background.

That's it for today, back to work!

Our local post office has a lot of nice flowers this time of year, too. We were there yesterday, and saw some of the most colorful spring blooms. Didn't have a camera, though, so missed capturing the moment. Good that you had you camera with you, Kate. Great shots! Thanks for sharing.

Looks ike you had fun playing with those pictures. I had fun looking at them!

I've heard the expression "bed of roses" and I'm wondering if that small bug was a bed bug hahahaha!

I particularly like the composition of the last shot with the flag in the background. We differ in our feelings about white flowers. I jokingly tell my friends that I am prejudice because I don't like white flowers except for Gardenias which are heavenly to smell.
