While we've enjoy walking, I find I'm having a difficult time getting my heart rate up and keeping it there. I've done a bit of yoga years ago and was amazed at what a workout it was.
So today, we decided to take a class in QiGong. The best way I can describe it (from my perspective) is it's somewhat like yoga, but is done standing up.
And my gosh, what a workout it is!
We took a 45 minute class, and it literally kicked my butt. Who would have thought that slow, concentrated movement could be so much work? I'm proud of myself (and Terry). We did all the moves, albeit not always like the instructor, but we made it through the class. At the end, I was completely drenched.
How does moving so slowly work up such a sweat? And now once again, I'm aware of muscles I'd forgotten I even possessed!
Maybe I'll try Aqua Aerobics next.

I practiced QiGong many years ago and was also surprised how such slow yet deliberate moves could make me sweat, and hurt at first.
