Otters and Herons

We seem to do so much more when people come to visit, 

I guess we should have more guests!

We spent a day down at Jetty Road by Moss Landing.  

It's our favorite spot 

to go and watch the otters and herons.  

They seem to love it there 

and never seem to mind 

that we hang around and take pictures.

The ocean there is so lovely, 

we always spend a good amount of time 

walking on the beach.

 It's also a great place to collect seashells.

But the real draw is the otters

 These little guys are so entertaining

This one looks kind of grumpy.

like Oscar the Grouch.

This one was busy cleaning himself.

And this guy seemed to ignore us completely.

This is also a favorite hangout for egrets.

Or are they herons?

I caught this guy as he was leaving us.

I love the way the wind moves through their feathers.

And something about this shot just appealed to me.
