.
Hey, this will be just a quick post.
As you may know, I am a huge fan of my Kindle, I think it's the bee's knees . . . with one tiny exception.
More and more, libraries are slowly converting books over to the digital format, and for whatever reason, Amazon has decided that the Kindle will not read this format. BUMMER!
But the other day I read a little something online, and today I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and you know what? They have the Literati, a color eReader (that has gotten truly mediocre reviews) on close out for $40.00!!!
Now while I wouldn't want the Literati as my primary reader, it does have it's pluses. It's a nice size, it has a color backlit display and it comes with it's own case.
AND it will read library books.
Is that cool or what?
One final note. If you go on the Bed, Bath and Beyond's website and sign up for their email list, you get a 20% coupon that you can apply to the cost of the Literati!
So of course I bought one, and while I haven't checked it out yet (it's still charging), I figured for the price, it was worth a look see.
I'll report back with my impressions later.

I don't know... I just can't get my mind to adjust to this technology yet. There's just something about holding the pages of a book in my hands that I truly feel I would miss...
Guess I'm gonna be an old school hold out for this one! A first!
You know what? That's how I felt too, then I actually read a book on one. I do most of my reading in bed, and I much prefer an eReader for that. Right now, I'm reading a hard back book from my local library. It's heavy and the pages keep flopping over.
I never thought I'd say it, but I love reading on the Kindle, which is such a surprise to me.
Of course, we're all different and that's what makes life so interesting!

I have avoided buying a Kindle because I didn't want to pay 9.99 for each book, I hope this other reader will do well with the library books. I'm going to check it out. Thanks.
That's a great tip Kate. The library thing is my objection to the Kindle as well but other than that I love it. Maybe Amazon will get wise and figure out they're making a lot of customers unhappy! I too hate paying the price for the books so I haven't been reading as much but it is SOOO much easier to hold than a regular book. Well, I'm off to the B B & B site to look for that coupon! Thanks!!
I'm looking forward to your thoughts on this reader... we do plan to get one (not sure which one) at some point.
Also read lots in prone position and thought Kindle would be great, but couldn't afford yet, but jumped on your suggestion (thanks), printed my 20% off coupon and headed to local BB&B after work - got their last one! It's charging now and looking forward to your update.
I have considered an eReader also but find that I can exchange books at RV Parks at no cost.
My original 5 books have probably been exchanged 7-10 times in the past year. Those original 5 cost me $1 each at the Reno, NV Friends of the Library Book Sale.
I can not beat that for cost and do not have a problem turning paper pages even in a reclined position.
Ed,
That's great, I'm glad that's working for you.
Like they say, YMMV.
